Q) WHAT IS DANDRUFF ?
It’s a fungus that everybody has on their scalp called Malassezia. It only presents dandruff symptoms when it grows out of control Things like stress, age, hormones, and hygiene can cause the fungus to multiply and dandruff symptoms to get worse.
Q) TYPES OF DANDRUFF ?
Dandruff can be dermatologically categorized into dry dandruff and oily dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis):
Dry Dandruff: Caused by a dry scalp leading to faster skin cell turnover. It results in small, white flakes.
Oily Dandruff: Caused by overproduction of sebum and the fungus Malassezia, Larger greasy flakes, intense itching, redness, oily scalp, Dandruff Will Re-occur after Few Days of Washing it .
Both types involve accelerated skin shedding, but oily dandruff also includes inflammation from fungal growth, while dry dandruff is typically mild with no significant irritation.
